Been doing my vocals for the “mission” release 7-13-07. It has been a blast! JDW is the best producer I have ever worked with!

Mission to find me

May 22nd, 2007 1 Comment »

I’m on a mission to find me

and I’m not givin’ up til I do

’cause I don’t want to go on in hiding,

by now I got nothing to lose

This life puts a scar on the innocent

and distorts any shred of the truth

and everyone has an agenda,

but I really don’t have one for you

I know that this world needs a hero,

I wish I could say that it’s me

but I’m just an old tired traveler

bound for home by the great crystal sea

So I’m on a mission to find me,

but I know in the end I’ll just prove

that me wasn’t really worth finding

I’m probly just looking for you

ya I’m probly just looking for you

I’m probly just looking for you

Why would I put my thoughts down?  I resent people that are always on the ball; always on time; always writing stuff down.  They always try to put some new spin on things.  They’re the people with the “ten points to personal success” books.  It all seems like a load of something to me.  I have been working on me for 25 years now and I’m still eons from “got it all together”.  The more I dig the more junk I find in the cellar.  So I’m gonna write it down ’cause I am sick of feeling guilty about it.  And go ahead and take this as a disclaimer that you wont get any cool ideas out of this.  You’ll be more confused than when you started.  I’m not original and I won’t be remembered.  I’m o.k. with that…no I’m not.  Anyway, you are probably a lot like me.  You won’t be remembered either.

I often have this dream that two thousand years from now archaeologists are digging up the remains of a once great civilization known as America, and they come across this little black book with my writing in it.  Unable to understand or interpret it, they assume that it’s some great historical piece of literature.  They put me in the history books, send me around to museums and give me a day on the calender.  I know it probably won’t pan out but it’s worth the thought.

I just proofread what I wrote so far and proved the eminence of my own disclaimer, so I’m signing off.
